You will discover in Book 6 (coming soon) the little-known story of the Sultana. The Civil War was over and 2,000 Union Prisoner of War soldiers boarded the wooden side-wheel steamboat. They were going home. This picture was taken when the boat stopped at Helena, Arkansas to take on coal. The soldiers were so excited to be in the photo, they nearly capsized the boat by crowding to one side for the benefit of the photographer. Two of my characters are on this boat.
